Happy 1/2 Birthday to Me - May 24, 2006

I am six months old now! I went to see the doctor on my 6 month birthday...what a way to celebrate...I had to get 2 shots...I weigh 15 lbs. 8 oz. and am almost 26 in. long. I am in the 50th percentile for my weight and height and in the 95th percentile for my head...it's 44 cm!


Mommy wanted to celebrate my 1/2 birthday, so all day (and through the weekend) she was using it as an excuse to go out to eat and get some sweet treats while I sat and watched. I did have fun going to the Japanese restaurant and watching them cook the food at our table. Daddy used the celebration as a reason to buy a new video camera - Happy Birthday to Me!

Mother's Day Celebration

Celebrating and feasting with family



We celebrated Mother's Day at the lake with Nana, Poppy, Uncle Jon, Great-Grandma Hanson and my other great aunts and great uncles and cousins. It was also a celebration of Great-Grandma Hanson's 90th birthday. We all had a fantastic time. I enjoyed being out on the deck with Nana looking at all her colorful flowers and watching the pretty birds (and squirrels) that eat at her feeders. I even got to meet the other Katherine in the family.

I think Uncle Jon loves to spoil me. He always finds special things for me like this cowgirl hat. It's a little big for me now but I'll grow into it soon! He even gave me some cool sunglasses (I think I'll have to grow into those a little too...what do you think?) Do I look amused or what?

My Dedication - May 5, 2007

We had my dedication at the Dalton SDA Church on May 5. Pastor Fred Fuller came down to give the dedication. We were very glad to have him dedicate me because he married Mommy and Daddy almost seven years ago. Also Aunt Cheryl and her family came up from Atlanta so she could sing a special song for the service. Nana, Poppy, and Gigi were there too along with other family and friends that live in Georgia and Tennessee. It was a very special day for our family.

We've been so busy during April and May that I've gotten far behind on my blogging. Mommy has been keeping us on the go with different activities for her and me as well as some traveling. Look for some updates coming soon of my dedication, mother's day, as well as some of my firsts (such as my first experience swimming.) I have my 1/2 birthday this week and a visit to the doctor so we'll have an update on my growth and development too.
